Microcourses

A new benefit for CAEL Members

CAEL is developing a series of microcourses for our members and other CAEL stakeholders who are working with, or on behalf of, adult learners. Essentially, these are self-paced professional development experiences intended to build capabilities to better advocate for, support, and engage adult learners on their educational journeys.

Our member-only content is a collection of learning experiences and other resources for those who are committed to the cause of helping adult learners succeed amid pathways that connect lifelong learning and employment. Our commitment is to create content that helps our members learn about new topics and issues, continuously improve their support of adult learners, and become confident, skilled professionals. As a member benefit, this offering aims to create value that will drive member retention and engagement.

We are launching this fall with a series of eight video-based microcourses. Designed to be self-paced and completed in less than an hour, each microcourse provides a high-level overview of a topic of interest to our members. The courses incorporate SME interviews that feature both industry and postsecondary perspectives. They also offer best practices in the form of toolkits, job aids, and case studies.
